For the past year or so I've been primarily concerned with writing stupid little comedy songs that have been created specifically to be heard through speakers or on headphones.
That might sound weird to any non-comedy* musicians reading this - but, being a musical comedian, I've only ever really written songs to be performed on stage, in comedy clubs, or for tiktoks and instagram reels.
Comedy clubs are wonderful places with terrible (and often potentially life-threatening) audio equipment.
Over the years - I had to develop a sense of realism when it came to songwriting and production - never wanting to make anything that can't be easily replicated in the venues I mainly performed in, and so these songs are the exact opposite of that.
They are high production, multi-instrument arrangements, that would be a nightmare to replicate in a comedy club. I've spent a long time on each one and to be honest with you.. I've loved every minute.
They were mostly written and recorded between November 2024 and March 2025.
